A Thermal transfer tag or label allows you or your customer to print on demand at your/their facility using a ribbon. These ribbons can come in all different colors and types. Synthetic stocks require either a “wax/resin” hybrid ribbon or just a resin ribbon.

A Direct thermal transfer tag or label requires no ribbon. Direct Thermal material has a special heat sensitive coating on the stock that allows you to print variable or static information on demand. Stocks are manufactured with a 300 or 400 dpi resolution coating.
